Child found unresponsive in parked car
Neighbors: family lost track of the child

WYOMING, Mich. (WOOD) - Wyoming Police told 24 Hour News 8 they were called to the 1900 block of Martindale around 5:20 Friday afternoon.

When they arrived they found an unresponsive toddler in a vehicle parked at the home.

The 2-year-old girl was pronounced dead at the scene.

Neighbors said the family lost track of the child and were searching for her when they discovered her in the car.

A neighbor said she thought the child was sleeping in the car.

Gwien Kimmel, a neighbor, told 24 Hour News 8 she attempted to perform CPR on the girl, but her efforts were unsuccessful.

Captain Brad Schutter said an autopsy is scheduled for Saturday.
