2-year-old girl found dead after three hours in hot car in Wylie

A 2-year-old girl who was found unattended in a parked car died Thursday afternoon, Wylie police said.

Toddler found dead in car Police officers and paramedics responded to an emergency call about 5:33 p.m. in the 2900 block of Katie Circle and found the girl unresponsive. She was pronounced dead at the scene.

Temperatures rose above 100 on Thursday afternoon.

Preliminary investigations indicate that the girl was left in the car for about three hours before she was found.

No one had been arrested in the case, and authorities have yet to release further details today.

Police said the investigation was ongoing
